1. Check out the Guilds section of this forum. There you can look at the guilds who are recruiting to see if you like their setup or post your own "looking for a guild" thread.
2. In each area, your party size is pre-set. Look at the top of your Party window for the max size. You may need to drop heroes or henchmen to fit. 3 & 4. check the wikis at http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Main_Page or http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page for lists of missions and quests for each campaign. 5. A good guild can help you when you need help and contribute to your fun.

Well to join a guild someone will send you an invite then you have to press "G" and accept the invitation. There are people recruiting all the time just go to Shing Jea, Kamadan, LA, or any big town district one.
To join a group you just click on them and their name should appear in your party box. Then just click the + sign to add them. The party size is shown at the top of your party box. Well you'll know when you're doing a mission because to enter one you have to click on the "Enter Mission" button in Factions and Prophecies or you talk to the guy with the crossed swords on top of his/her head in Nightfall. In a mission if everyone in your party dies you return to the outpost so you'll know. To find missions just proceed with the storyline doing the primary quests and you should hit a mission within two or three primary quests. Pros of joining a guild is that you can find helpful people who are fun to play with, and you can organize GvGs to pwn other guilds, I recommend joining a guild seeing as the game is "Guild Wars" |

Just beware of the guilds recruiting for faction farmers. They are the one's who take in anybody that is willing to transfer faction to the alliance and require hefty faction donations daily. They are not your best bet towards "playing" through the game.

I know most of this has been answered, but:
1)How can I join a guild? An officer in the Guild needs to send you an invitation. To accept the invitation you need to open your Guild box ("G" is the default key) and accept the invitation. The invitation is account based - that is, once you accept the invite, all of your characters will be in the Guild. When you are not on-line, the name of the character you joined with, will show up in the Guild member list (even if you delete it later). When you are on-line, your current character's name will appear in the member list. 2)....sometimes it says group too large or something like that The most common party size is 8. If, for example, you are trying to join a group that already has 6 members, and your group (including heroes and henchmen) has 4, then it will say the "party would be too large" because the total (6+4=10) is greater than the (current) max party size (8). (The max party size can vary.) 3)How do I know when I'm doing a mission? Missions are always started in an outpost (town). When you first enter the outpost You'll see the name of the outpost and underneath it will say "Co-operative Mission" (or whatever type of mission it is). In prophecies and Factions(?) there will be an "Enter Mission" button in the party box. In Nightfall and EoN there will be an NPC with a rotating symbol over their head. |
